Most of the mainstream church’s engage in fasting, in one form or another, in the Lenten Season. i.e. the 40 days before Easter Sunday. Its not generally a Baptistic thing. But we know that some baptist church’s do do it.

What are the rights and wrongs? Actually fasting is a good thing. You can fast for many different reasons and in many different ways, but generally speaking your aim should be to get closer to God.

Here at Fulham Baptist Church we don’t discourage members from fasting during lent or even at other times of the year we just point out that there is no biblical justification for it.

Saying that our minister has engaged in two one day fasts so far this year and intends to do several more.

We hope that if you choose to fast at any time that you will hear and know God more clearly because of it.
